Del Wolverton, received his technical training from the United States Navy, where he spent the first twenty years of his forty five years in the electronics industry. Having held Secret and Top Secret Carved Out clearances for development programs before and since his military career, Mr. Wolverton has a technical background well versed in many disciplines. He has maintained and designed highly classified telecommunications, microwave and satellite transmission systems. Among his many accomplishments for the US government, Mr. Wolverton served as technical advisor to leaders of several foreign countries, including King Fahad of Saudi Arabia, and as a single man technical assistance team to the Shah of Iran.
Ending his military career with a five year tour of duty at the US Navy Postgraduate School, Mr. Wolverton served as Instructor and Assistant Laboratories Manager for the Electrical Engineering Dept., Senior Enlisted Advisor, and held duties as Officer of the Day.
Immediately following his military service Mr. Wolverton joined Space Microwave Laboratories, where he served as Senior Engineer, Vice President of Engineering and finally, Vice President for the next six years. After developing several highly technical weapon systems and establishing himself as a visiting scientist in India, Canada, and Taiwan, a move was made to Quarterwave Corp. as Chief Engineer, and then to Chief Engineer for Interlink Data Network, Inc. It was during this time that his interest in fiber optics, stemming from his work on the guidance systems for missiles, would lead the way to his founding Point Source Technologies, Inc.
At Point Source Technologies, as Chief Engineer, Mr. Wolverton and several others began developing commercial electronic equipment based on the vast knowledge gained from the military design environment. This ultimately led to the relationship with Spectra Switch, Inc. and Pixel Communications, Inc. In addition to overseeing the design of a fiber optic switch, Wolverton authored a successful technical proposal for the Advanced Research Projects Administration (ARPA), landing a development Grant for Spectra Switch, Inc.
After consulting for several years, Mr. Wolverton was selected by Integrated Broadband Technologies, Inc. as Chief Engineer where he developed a remote advertising scheme for pay phones which delivered content specific information to the user. Allowing the user to make a free call.
A brief history of accomplishments will demonstrate the “front runner” attitude and thoughtfulness Mr. Wolverton brings to the team.
